SIPC and Supplemental Account Protection
As a UBS client, your accounts are covered by certain protections that would go into effect in the unlikely event that UBS Financial Services Inc. fails financially. The Firm is a member of the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), which protects securities customers of its members up to $500,000 (including $250,000 for claims for cash). For details about the Firm's SIPC protection, including limitations, refer to the Additional Disclosures section of the Agreements and Disclosures booklet.
UBS also maintains supplemental insurance, in addition to the standard SIPC account protection. Subject to the policy conditions and limitations, cash holdings for all your accounts held in a particular capacity at UBS Financial Services Inc. are protected up to $1.9 million. As of December 10, 2019, the maximum amount payable to all UBS Financial Services Inc. clients under the supplemental policy is $500 million. A full copy of the policy wording is available upon request.
